Centered on the theme "Leadership in Collaborative Innovations for a Stronger Nation" Supreme Student Council (SSC) Alangilan, the Office of Student Organizations, the Center for Innovations in Engineering Education (CIEE), and the College of Engineering organized the Sustainable Development Forum on the second day of celebrating the World Engineering Day 2023. The forum shed light on the university's commitment to sustainability, showcasing various initiatives and actions it has taken to achieve the SDGs. "By focusing on localized approaches, the university aims to create more meaningful and lasting change in the areas where it operates", said Dr. Mandane-Garcia, BatStateU Sustainability Development Officer. The forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders to engage in dialogue about the university's sustainability efforts and to explore potential avenues for collaboration and partnership. The event was held at the Fitness Development Center on March 9. Other invited guests in the forum were Engr. John Kevin De Castro, SDO of Alangilan and Ms. Ma. Therese Lynn I. Arellano, a student representative and moderated by Engr. Edgardo Titus M. Kaalim Jr., Education and Partnership Officer, CIEE.
Simultaneously, in the Inter-Department Booth Competition, various student organizations showcased their college current and previous achievements and efforts to address the 17 UN SDGs. Alongside their presentations, the students also engaged with the audience, sharing information and answering questions about their work.
