Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, through its Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the offices under the Office of the Vice President for Research, Development and Extension Services (OVPRDES), will host the International Conference on Sustainability through Research and Innovation (ICSRI) 2026 on September 28–30, 2026 at the Pablo Borbon Campus, Batangas City, Philippines.
Carrying the theme “LICAS 2026: Linking Institutions for Biodiversity Conservation Actions towards Sustainability,” the international conference will serve as a global platform for researchers, educators, policymakers, industry leaders, development organizations, and students to exchange knowledge, present innovative research, and strengthen partnerships in addressing today’s most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges.

The Philippine Agricultural Scientist (PAS) of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) and The Palawan Scientist (TPS) of the Western Philippine University (WPU) will serve as the official research journal partners of the said conference. Both journals are Scopus-indexed journals. Accepted papers will undergo further evaluation and may be considered for publication in the identified journals, subject to meeting the respective publication’s editorial policies, peer-review process, and quality standards. The Indian Maritime University will also serve an official partner for the event.
This year’s conference will focus on the advancement of biodiversity conservation and sustainability through research, innovation, and collaboration. Recognizing the urgent need to reverse biodiversity loss and strengthen ecosystem resilience, ICSRI 2026 highlights the indispensable role of research, innovation, and institutional collaboration in developing science-based and policy-responsive solutions.
Through plenary sessions, parallel paper presentations, and interdisciplinary discussions, participants will explore emerging approaches in biodiversity conservation, climate resilience, sustainable resource management, artificial intelligence, geospatial analytics, environmental governance, and other research-driven innovations that contribute to sustainable development. The conference also aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical implementation by promoting evidence-based policies and scalable solutions that benefit communities and ecosystems alike.
Researchers, practitioners, and sustainability advocates are encouraged to participate in ICSRI 2026 and contribute to shaping innovative, inclusive, and actionable solutions for a more resilient and sustainable future.
